The first article that caught my attention was : Dog-bite Britain: the problem with the pandemic puppy explosion | Dogs | The Guardian. The more dire news came later : 1 in 4 admit impulse buying a pandemic puppy | Kennel Club (thekennelclub.org.uk).
By this time, I was struggling reading the news. After working with dogs and having one myself, the sheer thought of mistreating them and abandoning them was excruciating. Because of the lockdown, expression had become an issue and I wanted an outlet. Should I write an article in a magazine, should I paint a picture or should I write a book! Writing a book is a different ball game than writing an article. I even thought of writing something keeping Leo in mind but was unsure and apprehensive. There were many areas that had to be thought through. Just that one spark was not enough. At this point my husband said “Just do it and go with the flow”.
An approach started forming in my mind. Then the “eureka” moment. Telling Leo’s story through his eyes while helping us understanding our furry friends better and in a joyful way. Nothing naturally can be accomplished on your own. Here we are today after a year, my book has been for nominated for Reader’s choice awards…
This has been possible with the great team effort from my publisher Just bear With Us & The
Dog Alliance of Austin, Texas; whom I thank humbly.
Can’t wait to see how this unfolds.. your votes will fuel my journey…
